VisionMaker Video Viewer Guides
Now Available

Viewer GuidesVisonMaker Video viewer guides are a valuable tool to learn more about the issues facing many Native Americans today. Written hand-in-hand with the film's development, the viewer guides ask thought-provoking questions pertaining to how situations and quotes presented in the film affect the viewer's own life, family, communities and future.

The viewer guides are complete with producer's notes, images from the film, statistics, maps and additional resources--each of which is useful for group engagement and outreach to those of diverse backgrounds.

Designed for adults, including high school and college-aged students, these guides are an ideal tool for educational exploration. More than eight viewer guides are available online now on the VisionMaker Video web site. Be prepared to share your ideas on how you can change the world!

Keep checking for updates, as many more are slated for upcoming release.

POV Announces 2010 Season

POV Logo

POV has recently announced their new independent documentaries on Tuesday nights for the 2010 season. The year kicks off on April 21 with a special broadcast of Oscar nominee Food, Inc. by Robert Kenner.

Read Simon Kulmurry's, POV Executive Director, full announcement.

In July 2008, POV co-produced and broadcasted The Last Conquistador on PBS. The Last Conquistador was a co-production of ITVS, Latino Public Broadcasting, KERA Dallas/Fort Worth and NAPT. Renowned sculptor John Houser has a dream: to build the world's tallest bronze equestrian statue for the city of El Paso, Texas. He envisions a stunning monument to Spanish conquistador Juan de Oñate that will honor the contributions Hispanic people made to building the American West.

But as the project nears completion, troubles arise. Native Americans are outraged--they remember Oñate as the man who brought genocide to their land and sold their children into slavery. As El Paso divides along lines of race and class in The Last Conquistador, the artist must face the moral implications of his work.
